Our
Help/Training Book is a great metaphor! Students instantly know how to
navigate. Our special touch makes the book paradigm into the model training
tool because it allows the student to be ever cognizant of the big three
major learning needs:
* how am I doing? ... sliding bar progress indicators show
relative completion of each lesson & the running point total for lesson
& quiz interactions
* what is my objective? ... besides intros, a status panel
indicates learning objectives by topic & lesson
* where am I? ... visual cues include: color coded lesson tabs,
title bars, page numbers, show me titles & pages, and an integrated
interactive course map

This
tutorial was developed for training government workers in how to use a new
national web based database system. Made originally to supplement classroom
training as a CD-ROM product that could also be used as stand-alone take home
instructions, it was later modified and used as a web based tool. The
progress bar at the top of each page allows users to move freely throughout
the tutorial. An animated robot enhances the learning experience by helping
to keep the student engaged. This skeletal sample demonstrates how Flash can
be used to make a tutorial a colorful, entertaining, and instructive training
product.

This
tutorial was distributed with the set of Thomas Register catalogs,
introducing users to the newly implemented feature of viewing catalogs on
CD-ROM as well as on the Internet. Animations, sound, and interactive
exercises give the user the look and feel of the actual application. The
tutorial is a stand-alone instruction for learning how to access Thomas
Register CD-ROM and Internet catalogs.
